A picture is worth a thousand words. I found clarity for the interpretation for this phrase from an Aristotle who said “The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things but the inward significance.” Pictures are art, a form of visual stimulation which capture our eyes, possibly our hearts. Images can tell stories, convey meaning, and capturing moments that can resonate deeply with the viewer if relevant. Photos captivate a genuine feeling that is only “in the eyes of the beholder.” We can see where photos and photo taking play a role in our every day lives of our favorite instagram icons, Facebook albums, twitter feeds, and even advertisements you see on the street as you drive to work or youtube videos you watch before you go to bed. Visuals strike as a powerful form of communication because they evoke emotions within us that we can feel. Lets find out why social media images stop users in their tracks.
(a true and authentic smile is contagious. The kind where you look half ridiculous but can’t stop)
1. We are “visually wired “ 50% of our brain is involved in visual processing, 70% of all your sensory receptors are in your eyes, and we can get the sense of a visual in less than 1/10 of a second. In simple terms, we are designed to be attracted to infographics .
(Creepy, but we get the point)
2. Photos are more engaging Researchers found that color visuals increase the willingness to read by 80%. Colors capture attention, and conveys a sense of professionalism and gain more trust.
3. Images evoke Emotions Images evoke emotions in users, the most popular being “awe” -27%, “laughter” -17% and “amusement” -15%. Being the most popular, these emotions are also the most likely to gain more shares, and possibly go viral. The least popular emotions were sadness and anger which made up 7%.

4.People Remember Images. People remember more of what they SEE and DO, versus what they READ and HEAR.
( I Don’t think this is something you could forget)
5. Images make things come alive Think food, a recipe doesn’t create that mouth-watering savory feeling quite like a picture does. Showing a picture of delicious food has the same side effects as Pavolv’s dog.
Salted Caramel Peanut Pie,… Mmmmmm 🙂 that is all.
